y’s partners, a governance advisory firm, announced on the 5th that it successfully hosted 'y’s Impact Night', bringing together key leaders from the impact investment ecosystem.

Hosted by y’s partners, which launched this year, the event was attended by about 70 key domestic and international investors, entrepreneurs, non-profit sector leaders, and academic experts who have contributed to solving complex social challenges while creating both financial performance and social value beyond short-term profits. Participants discussed various field experiences and macro-social environmental changes, seeking ways to establish a virtuous cycle for a sustainable ecosystem where capital serves people and drives practical, systemic change.

The event consisted of an 'Insight Sharing Session' on the impact investment ecosystem and a 'Networking Session' to explore tangible collaboration opportunities among participants.

In the first Insight Sharing Session, Wonsik Jeong, Senior Associate at D3 Jubilee Partners, and Jieun Lee, CEO of Giboo, presented insights from 'Asia Impact Nights', sharing live field experiences and recent impact investment trends across Asia.

This was followed by a special lecture by James Rhee, Global Advisor at y’s partners, Founder of Red Helicopter®, and Founder of FirePine Group, an investment advisory firm for global family offices. Speaking on the topic "New HBS Case about Red Helicopter and Red Helicopter Operating System," Rhee highlighted a recently published HBS case study written by Harvard Professor Rebecca Henderson, author of Reimagining Capitalism in a World on Fire. He emphasized why the system dynamics framework for inducing human behavior change—encapsulated by "Kindness" and "Math"—is vital today.

In the subsequent y's partners session, Managing Partner & Co-founder James Choi and Partner & Co-founder Wang Yang took the stage as speakers. James Choi presented on the topic "Intangible Assets That Change Investment Returns: Culture Due Diligence for VC & PE." Choi pointed out, "Organizational culture liabilities discovered post-acquisition—such as labor conflict, governance risks, and key talent attrition—ultimately exert a decisive influence on corporate value and deal pricing. Intangible relationship assets and field risks that traditional financial and legal due diligence miss must be quantified and reflected in valuation and post-merger integration (PMI) plans."

Next, Wang Yang introduced y’s partners’ "Stakeholder Engagement & Action (SE&A) Model." Yang stressed, "The real engine that grows a company post-investment stems from the actions and trust of key stakeholders, including customers, employees, partners, and local communities. Through the SE&A model—which listens to stakeholder voices and aligns them with corporate strategy and execution—companies can defend against risks during crises and drive long-term value creation."

In the latter half of the event, participants networked to explore various ways to create impact and collaborate in a relaxed atmosphere filled with music.

In her welcoming remarks, Yvonne Park, Founder & CEO of y’s partners, expressed her vision: "To help capital and people in the impact investment ecosystem wisely interact, unite, and solve larger challenges, y’s partners will continue to serve as a hub connecting family offices and impact leaders, as well as a governance partner leading the way toward a sustainable future."
