On January 16, Yvonne Park, Founder & CEO of y's partners, participated as a panelist in the first 2026 committee meeting jointly hosted by the Legal Affairs Committee and the ICT & AI Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AMCHAM).
Held under the theme “Data Privacy & Data Leaks: When and Where to Report, and What to Know,” the meeting brought together more than 30 AMCHAM members to discuss key issues surrounding data privacy, cyber incident response, and regulatory reporting obligations in Korea. As regulatory scrutiny increases and expectations for transparency continue to rise, the session explored how companies can prepare to respond to data incidents in a timely, lawful, and strategic manner.
During the session, Yvonne Park shared insights on the importance of strategic data governance, emphasizing that companies must go beyond basic legal compliance and develop integrated communication and governance strategies to effectively manage reputational and regulatory risks.
Experts from Yulchon LLC and Kim & Chang also participated in the discussion, presenting key lessons from recent data breach cases, regulatory trends, and practical approaches to responding to investigations by the Personal Information Protection Commission (PIPC).
