Wang Yang is Co-Founder and Partner of y's partners, a governance advisory firm. Wang provides execution-focused advisory grounded in governance communications and stakeholder engagement strategy, helping organizations and their leadership make the best decisions in the most complex and sensitive situations. A trusted strategic partner for boards and management navigating the intersection of shareholder activism, inter-shareholder disputes, governance issues, and regulatory risk — Wang ensures that leadership can stay focused on the business while reputational exposure is managed with precision. From advisory to on-the-ground execution, Wang supports the full spectrum of communications response when the unexpected strikes.

 

Wang is a communications professional with over 15 years of experience leading governance communications, stakeholder engagement, crisis response and public and external affairs. Prior to founding y's partners, Wang spent 14 years at FleishmanHillard Korea, rising to Senior Vice President & Partner, and serving as Head of the Stakeholder Engagement Center and Crisis & Reputation Practice Group Lead. Wang has led some of the most complex and sensitive mandates in the Korean market, including regulatory response strategy for global and domestic corporations, parliamentary and regulatory authority management, ownership and control disputes, and M&A communications. As Head of the Stakeholder Engagement Center, Wang built and operated extensive expert networks spanning academia, government, public institutions, and media — running forums, research groups, and KOL engagement programs on behalf of clients.

 

Wang currently serves as a communications advisory committee member for Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) and the Seoul Metropolitan Government. 

 

Past clients include Google, Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, SK Telecom, HYBE, Tencent, NH Investment & Securities, Schindler Holding AG, Nexon, McDonald's, and Hanwha Group, among others.

 

Wang holds an M.A. in Communication from Yonsei University Graduate School and a B.A. in Korean Language & Literature from Yonsei University.
